Opinion: When the vegetables were simple

'Eat Like Your G. G. Parents Ate'...this is a thing that we need to embrace, embrace with wide open arms - holding onto it as tightly as you'd hug a beloved family member [with lingering warmth - never ever wanting to let go].

It's funny how people today desire that large beautiful 'open-concept' kitchen...but why? Because family & friends gravitate to and enjoy the warmth of nurturing happy environments - 'the age old kitchen' means good health, not just from the food that is lovingly prepared in it, but from the relationships that grow around it we thrive from the food...we rejoice over food - even when it's 'bad'...

A case in-point story about my Mom goes this way: Our family was to have dinner together at our home - a turkey was involved in this particular dinner - little did the guest's suspect, my Mom later divulged to me that she had mistakenly left the bag of turkey gizzards-kidneys-and heart in the hollow of the bird that she 'perfectly' roasted - the memory of my Mom happily dancing in the kitchen was pricelessly captured on film that day, and no one was worse off for eating that unique bird...

Naturally, you can imagine the horror of any home chef's novice blunder...thankfully family remains family & friends only 'politely spill the beans' among close friends as a fond anecdote (with lessons learned never to be repeated).

Stepping a bit further back - 'Eating Like Our G. G. Parents Ate' - is not a new concept...rather, it's a loud cry for help about our poor state of health, far worse than leaving the 'Gizzard Bag' in a turkey while cooking it. The matters of concern today are the numerous chemicals associated with poisoning our modern 21st century food supply, sadly these events can hardly be called 'novice blunders'.

It has been clearly documented that the foods from the yesteryear's of our G. G. Parents were 'Clean' & uncontaminated (more or less in their 'pure & natural state'/organic) - however today, the damaging chemicals associated with modern agriculture and the processed/refined food-like products that we are now subjected to has produced widespread 'health statistics'...instead of 'good health' promotion and practice.

Have you watched these recent documentaries - take notes please: 'Broken Brain', 'The Truth About Cancer', 'Fed Up', 'Food Inc.', 'That Vitamin Movie', 'What You Eat Matters - 2018 Documentary H.O.P.E.', 'Sustainable', 'Fat - Sick & Nearly Dead', 'Hungry For a Change', 'Rotten', the book 'Silent Spring' 1962 by Rachel L. Carson, etc...this is epoch info! & the chemicals are affecting not just me...come on, it's you and your loved ones too! - your weight - your disease - your disorder - your syndrome - your mental state (...sadly we've all been 'Scammed') - but the facts are in , they're clear and they're open - it's a completely sick, 'Profits Over Wellbeing System' that's tampering with the global food [and water] supply...

...by being well informed & better educated, we're thus equipped in making better choices for ourselves as individuals and our dear families'.

Yes, we are saturated by a dominating environment that's engineered - but it's time to do RESEARCH - THINK & UNDERSTAND how those 'health statistics' play out. Do YOU really want to add to the 'health statistics' this year - or any other year? Instead, let's make the time & investment to add vibrancy to our personal health by growing & ingesting only 'Minimalistic Foods' - 'Clean-Raw-Green Foods' - 'Functionally Healthy Foods' - as an everyday eating standard...

1. Organic meat only: on special occasions/only for flavoring - once in a while.

2. Eat plants only/Organic - (Do NOT Eat foods made in a Plant/Factory)

3. Eat many colors/varieties

4. Don't eat too much

5. Drink water as your beverage of choice

6. Eat and enjoy your food with other people/sit at the table

7. Do Not eat anything your G. G. Ma couldn't recognize as food

With these vital lessons learned...let's remember and discuss when vegetables & fruits came first without being chemical laden - G. G. Ma was by far healthier with her diet standard, than we are today. Her kitchen too may have been smaller & more intimate [a sacred space for her family's good health] - but the joy of cooking a wholesome meal brought her real joy and satisfaction, because she knew the source of her recipe's ingredients...it was nothing but the best in her family's well prepared meals - from the seed to the table.

There is nothing better than eating real honest food...it's Lovingly Delish!

Stay Happy!

XO
